Ole Lund
Dr. Ole Lund is a senior lecturer and the director of a
newly established information design program at the department
of computer science and media technology at Gjoevik University
College in Norway. At the college he teaches "ergonomics in
digital media" and "typographic design". He is a member of the
Norwegian "Council of higher design education". Title of his
doctoral thesis: "Knowledge construction in typography: the case
of legibility research and the legibility of sans serif
typefaces" (University of Reading, 1999). As a doctoral student
he received the sustantial "Overseas research student award" and
was the book reviews editor of Information Design Journal. Among
his publications are: "Why serifs are (still) important",
Typography Papers, no.2, 1997, pp 91-104; and "The public debate
on Jock Kinneir's road sign alphabet", Typography Papers, no.5,
2003, pp.103-126.
