The successfull two-day workshop on typeface design, which had been taken place back in February, is to be repeated on the 18th and 19th of June 2007. The contemporary approaches towards the creation of typefaces are discussed and evaluated as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the digital design tools.

Gerry Leonidas is lecturer in the Dept of Typography and Graphic Communication at the University of Reading, UK and Course Director of the MA in Typeface Design. He is practicing designer of Greek and Latin typefaces and a regular consultant on typography and type design. He has published book reviews and articles on typography and is currently completing a PhD on the relationship of the design processes of Greek and Latin digital typefaces.

Eva Massoura has been graduated from the Department of Graphics Arts Technology, TEI, Athens. She then took the MA in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins, London and the MA in Typeface Design at the University of Reading. In 2005 Eva designed Frutiger Next Greek for the Linotype company, a typeface awarded in Type Directors Club, New York (TDC2 2006).

Eirini Vlachou was graduated from the graphic design programme of Vakalo School of Art & Design in Athens. She then persued her studies at the the University of Derby, from where she was awarded an MA in Advanced practices and theories in graphic design. Eirini also holds the MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading, UK. She is currently working for Cannibal Fonts, in Athens.
